Sol Lim

Sol Lim

Sol Lim is an Assistant Professor in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. She co-directs Occupational Ergonomics and Biomechanics (OEB) labs leading research in human factors & ergonomics. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Industrial and Operations Engineering Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She holds Master’s degrees in Biomechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University, and a B.S. degree in Clothing and Textiles from Yonsei University. She uses wearable technologies and predictive analytics to advance our understanding of human motion in several environmental contexts, including occupational settings, healthcare, remote physical activity, and human-robot collaboration in manufacturing domains. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, industry, and professional organizations.
